Frequently asked questions

About Sound Choice

What is Sound Choice?

Sound Choice is a carefully curated collection of professional live acts. Rather than listing hundreds of performers, we focus on a smaller selection of acts we genuinely believe are worth discovering.

You can find out more about Sound Choice and why we created it.

How does Sound Choice work?

Start by exploring the acts on Sound Choice and finding performers that suit your event. Each artist page includes video, photographs, useful information and indicative pricing to help you compare your options.

Once you've found an act you're interested in, you can make an enquiry with the details of your event. Our How Sound Choice works page explains the process in more detail.

Finding an act

What types of live entertainment can I find on Sound Choice?

Sound Choice features a range of professional live entertainment, including party and function bands, interactive acts, tribute bands and other specialist performers.

The collection will continue to grow, but we're deliberately selective about the acts we feature.

Can you help if I don't know what kind of act I need?

Yes. You don't need to arrive knowing exactly which band or type of entertainment you're looking for.

Explore Sound Choice by the style of act, music, occasion or experience you're interested in and use the artist pages to narrow down your choices.

Do the acts perform throughout the UK?

Many of the acts featured on Sound Choice perform across the UK, although individual availability and travel arrangements vary.

If you're interested in a particular artist, provide the location of your event when you make an enquiry and we can establish whether the booking is practical.

Prices and enquiries

Are the prices shown on Sound Choice the final price?

Not necessarily. Prices shown on artist pages are intended to give you a useful indication of what a performance is likely to cost.

The final price can depend on factors including the location of your event, travel, timings, accommodation, production requirements and any additional services you require.

Does it cost anything to make an enquiry?

No. Making an enquiry doesn't commit you to booking an act.

It simply gives us the information needed to confirm availability and provide more accurate details about the performance and cost.

Why do you need details about my event?

Live entertainment is rarely a completely standard product. The date, venue, location, performance times and type of event can all affect whether an act is available and what is involved in delivering the performance.

Providing these details at the start helps us give you useful information rather than an unrealistic generic quote.

Booking an artist

Do I book directly with Sound Choice?

That depends on the artist.

Some performers handle their own enquiries and bookings, while others work with Sound Choice more closely throughout the process. We'll make it clear who you're dealing with and how the booking will be managed before you commit to anything.

When is my booking confirmed?

Your booking isn't confirmed simply because you've made an enquiry or received a quote.

The exact confirmation process may vary between artists, but you'll be told what is required to secure the date, including any contract or payment requirements.

Should I contact the venue before booking a band?

It's worth checking that your venue permits live music and can accommodate the type of act you're considering.

Some performers will have specific requirements for performance space, power, access, sound equipment or finishing times. These can normally be discussed once we know which act and venue are involved.

About the artists

How do you choose the acts on Sound Choice?

Sound Choice is deliberately curated. We're looking for acts with strong musicianship, a compelling live performance, professional presentation and the ability to deliver consistently for clients.

We'd rather feature a smaller number of excellent performers than build the largest possible directory.

I'm a performer. Can I join Sound Choice?

Potentially. We welcome applications from professional acts that think they would be a good fit for the platform.

You can apply to join Sound Choice and tell us about your act, including links to your website, video and other promotional material.
